[Venezuela vs Australia soccer/football] It’s a great night to be a fan of Football/Soccer here in Houston Texas. With Venezuela facing off against Australia. Tonight's friendly match is one that some fans are calling “odd” given the fact that Venezuela has lost all their last four games. Australia in comparison has won seven out of the last eight games that they played. Despite that, if one considers the head-to-head record between both teams, the two teams only played each other once and the match resulted in a draw. But odd match or not, fans are looking forward to watching a great game at Shell Energy Stadium.

While both teams looked great on the pitch, it can be said that both teams tended to hold the ball too long and failed to be more aggressive when it came to scoring. Regardless of that fact, it would be Venezuela's Jesús Ramírez that would score the first and only point of the night with a great assist by Ender Jesús Echenique Peña. The entire match belonged to Venezuela.

Looking at the stats of tonight's game starting with Australia, they possessed the ball 34% of the time. They also had 2 big chances with 2 big chances missed and took a total of 9 shots. They also had 4 goalkeepers saves with 2 of them being big saves and took 4 corner kicks. That also had a total of 363 passes with 320 accurate passes, 10 throw in’s, 10 tackles, and 11 free kicks. They also obtained 1 yellow card. Australia also had 4 shots on target with 3 shots off target, and 2 blocked shots. When it came to shots inside and outside the box, Australia had taken 7 shots inside and 2 shots outside the box. They also had 13 clearances and received a call for being offside.

Looking at Venezuela, they were able to dominate the pitch by possessing the ball 66% of the time. They also had 2 big chances and missed 1, and they took a total of 10 shots. Of the 10 shots they took, 5 of those shots were on target and 4 shots failed to be on target. Venezuela also had 1 block shot and 4 goalkeeper saves. When looking at the shots that were taken inside and outside the box, they had 7 and 3 respectively. Venezuela had 5 corner kicks and a whopping 698 passes with 635 of those passes being accurate passes. Venezuela also had14 tackles,14 throw-in’s and they obtained 1 yellow card. It should be noted that Venezuela had no calls for being offside.

Lastly when it came to duels Venezuela again led in this category (53% to 47%). Overall, this was an entertaining match to watch as Houston fans are looking forward to more friendly matches to be played at Shell Energy Stadium in the future.
