In an even more desperate attempt to garner the votes of American Black Men, presidential hopeful and current Vice-President Kamala Harris has vowed to provide roughly $20,000 for up to $1 million dollars in forgivable start-up money for Black American male Entrepreneurs to start businesses in America. There is a lot that can be said about this but the main question that’s on the minds of many Black American Men is: “Why now, with only 3 weeks before election day?”. The reason why this question is relevant is because this is an initiative that she could have embarked on while she was in office – but didn’t. With a mass number of American Black Men who have turned their backs on the decades of either being largely ignored after voting for a democratic nominee and or falling victim to failed democratic policies stated that they would now be voting for Former President Donald Trump.
Keep in mind that there's nothing free in this world except for Jesus, and this train of thought is more relevant in America where everything is for sale than anywhere else in the world. And in the case of Vice-President Kamala Harris who has “promised” to invest roughly 1 million in forgivable federal business loans for 50 American Black Men it’s questionable if not laughable at best. The equation is simple: (1 million divided by 20,000=50). First off, in a country that is currently so far in debt you have to ask yourself where is this money going to come from? For VP Kamala Harris to “promise” to provide 1 million in business loans for Black American men when America can’t even consistently discharge $20,000 for the average American in college debt can be considered nothing less than an assault on the integrity of not only Americans in general, but more specifically Black American Men.
Moreover, it should be noted that most businesses fail within 3 years of starting mainly due to economic hardships, so with these business startup loans being “forgivable”, the question that should be asked is how well can the American economy ensure anymore reckless and wasteful governmental spending practices and charge offs? Keep in mind that debt is a financial instrument that must be economically accounted for. Another thing that must be noted is that historically it's been harder for Black American men to obtain business loans from the Small Business Administration (SBA) than any other demographic. So, the next question that should come to mind is: “How and what measures will be implemented to ensure that the qualifying Black American Men are able to maximize their chances of obtaining a loan from the SBA, if the SBA will be responsible for the allocation of those funds?”.
Then there is the issue of what factors will be used to determine who qualifies as a Black American man. All too often, when programs like this are created especially on the federal level, everyone but fundamental Black Americans are able to benefit from the policies put in place to protect them and give them the socio-economic leg up that is needed to propel them into a future of financial independence and stability. In other words what we are saying here at VEDA Communications is that Africans from Africa, people from the Caribbean communities (CARICOM), Afro-Latinos, and Indians from India and anyone else that have dark complected skin are NOT fundamental Black Americans, and thus should be excluded from being able to participate in programs like this.
There are so many other reasons as to why Vice-President Kamala Harris' promise to American Black Men in terms of “promising” them 1 million in “forgivable” loans for economic empowerment is already dead-on arrival. Her flawed logic of :
“I can buy the integrity of Black American Men regardless of the decades of socio-economic damage that I’ve caused if I just throw some money at them”.
is just as cheap as it is flawed. Thus, her logic of her “promise” is to be considered nothing more than an assault on their integrity and further used as a reason to ignore her more than they already do.
