[2026 World Economic Forum geopolitical risk] The 2026 World Economic Forum wrapped up with its predicted geopolitical risk outlook for the rest of the year into early 2027. Among its predictions were the need for nations to engage in not only more dialogue, but also to seek out ways to build more trust at a time where geopolitical tensions across the international community appear to be at it’s highest. Global economic security and the ongoing decline of multinationalism in a multipolarized world stood at the top of the predicted list. Leaders at this year's world economic forum also expressed the need to address geoeconomic confrontations headfirst as it pertains specifically to geopolitical warfare.
The level of uncertainty around the world is also a cause for concern amongst the world leaders that took the stage. Artificial Intelligence, on the rapid advancement of technology, and its effects in conjunction with cost of global energy; specifically, the advancement of “Green Energy” as a massive national security driver and multiplier was also touched on within this session. Fossil fuels were considered to be a thing of the past according to the panelist. Countries classified as “Middle Powers” and their power to become a force for stability has also been predicted to increase in 2026. China and Russia are predicted to take on more leading roles in 2026 as well.
