[Peru earthquake kills 6] The pacific island of Peru was struck by a 5.5 magnitude earthquake last night leaving at least 6 people killed, 30 injured, and 300 people displaced. The earthquake struck at 9:24pm in the south-west city of Sicaya in the Huancayo province. Last night's earthquake left buildings completely collapsed and other infrastructure severely damaged. Peru lies in what is known as the “Ring of Fire” a moniker attached to 15 countries that lie within the coastal regions of the pacific that stretches from Indonesia to the western part of Canada and both north and south America.

The Ring of Fire also consists of 75% of the earth's volcanoes, and an estimated 90% of the world's earthquakes. It was also reported that a previous earthquake was also reported on Saturday which measured 3.7 on the Richter scale as it struck the Chupaca province which is located in ​the Junín region east of Lima. This earthquake left 48 residential homes and buildings belonging to business destroyed, another 18 damaged, and 300 people were left displaced from their homes. Emergency and rescue workers are currently clearing ruble and continuing the search for missing people.
