NATASHA WILSON & OPERATION TURKEY TO FEED 1,000'S IN HOUSTON THIS THANKSGIVING
[NATASHA WILSON OPERATION TURKEY HOUSTON] Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and while many families are preparing for the holiday, countless individuals and households are struggling financially and wondering how they will afford a Thanksgiving meal.
This Thanksgiving, Operation Turkey Houston–South Central Area is calling on the community to stand together and help ensure that no one is forgotten. We are inviting volunteers, delivery drivers, businesses, churches, community organizations, corporate partners, and local media to join us in making a difference for families and individuals experiencing food insecurity and financial hardship.
Founded in Austin, Texas, Operation Turkey has been serving communities for 27 years. As a 100% volunteer-based organization, Operation Turkey relies on the generosity, dedication, and compassion of volunteers and community partners to bring Thanksgiving meals to those who need them most.
MORE THAN A MEAL! WE ARE DELIVERING HOPE!
For many families, the holidays can be a difficult reminder of financial challenges. Our mission is to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to those who may otherwise go without a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Each complete meal package will include a cooked Thanksgiving meal, a drink, a hygiene kit, a bag of fresh fruit, and resource materials. With the assistance of volunteer delivery drivers, these packages will be delivered directly to each registered meal recipient’s front door.
We are not simply distributing food. We are reaching people where they are and reminding them that their community cares. This year, Operation Turkey Houston–South Central plans to smoke 100 turkeys as part of our Thanksgiving outreach. Behind every turkey, every meal package, and every delivery is a community coming together to serve others.
COME WITNESS THE POWER OF COMMUNITY!
We invite the public and local media to join us during Turkey Tailgate, the day before Thanksgiving, and on Thanksgiving Day to witness volunteers working together to prepare and distribute meals for those in need.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CITY LEADER
“Thanksgiving should be a time of gratitude, togetherness, and hope, not a day when families have to worry about whether they can afford a meal. We recognize that many people in our community are facing difficult circumstances, and we want every recipient to know that they are not alone. Through Operation Turkey, we are delivering more than a meal; we are delivering compassion, dignity, and a reminder that people care. It takes all of us working together to make this mission successful. I encourage our community, local businesses, volunteers, delivery drivers, and media partners to stand with us and help make a meaningful difference this Thanksgiving.”
