[Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine Downtown Houston Texas] In Houston Texas, there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from. But today while in the field in Downtown Houston, we stopped to get a bite to eat at Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine located at 417 Travis St, Houston, TX 77002. The inside of Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine has a certain kind of vintage look and feel, that can't be duplicated. While many restaurants around the country tend to replicate the rustic vintage look of Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine, they still fall short as they attempt to add a modern twist on this seemingly long and forgotten look; Frank’s doesn't have to as the building Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine in operating in stays true to the term “brick and mortar” and not the hollow synthetic appearance many restaurants around the country have today.

Instead of ordering pizza at Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine I ordered a cheeseburger. This is not to say that the pizza at Frank’s wasn’t appealing because it most certainly was, but there's something about a restaurant's cheeseburger that reveals what kind of restaurant you're eating at. Make no mistake about it, this basic but quintessential food item on a restaurant's menu is a make or break with a lot of people. Another great thing that I enjoyed about Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine is that the price was right.

What we mean by this is that in a country where inflation is rising faster than most Americans' earnings, Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine somehow has managed to keep their menu prices on par with what the average Houstonian can afford despite it being in the heart of Downtown Houston. The total cost of a cheeseburger and fries at Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine came out to be $9.50. It should be noted that the average cost of a meal at McDonald’s for a single person in 2024 was $8.50. The cheeseburger at Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine was cooked to order and took roughly 10-15 minutes. While waiting we took full advantage of the barstool-like window seat in the front which ended up making a great view while eating.

The cheeseburger was exceptionally moist, and the cheese was finely melted. It wasn't salty but was salted just enough for taste. This is something that people with high blood pressure can and will deeply enjoy. The fries seemed to be baked and had a crispy outside and tender inside. Another thing that I believe many people would enjoy is that the cheeseburgers at Frank’s were of a decent size; not small like a McDonald’s burger, but not overly humongous where eating the burger would feel “offensive” for lack of better terms. The bun of the burger was just right and complemented the thickness of the patty. Now I'm unsure of the type of bun they used but it didn’t seem to be of cheap quality.

Overall, the cheeseburgers, assumingly like all the menu items at Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine, were excellent and worthy of a second go ‘round. Spending some time in culinary school allowed me to have a particular insight into what to look for when providing a food critique. Cheeseburgers in Houston Texas, and if you ever have the opportunity to visit Downtown, Houston Texas; make sure that you stop into Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine and enjoy not only their outstanding cheeseburgers, but their pizza as well, because even though I didn’t order a slice of pizza, their cheeseburgers set the benchmark of expectation that the pizza at Frank’s Pizza, Beer, & Wine will be if not just as good, but better.
