[Mohammed Odeh assassinated Israel] As the highly controversial war between Israel and Hamas continues, Hamas announced and confirmed the assassination of their top official Mohammed Odeh who was killed in an Israeli strike in the in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza. Along with the assassination of Mohammed Odeh was his wife and two children. The assassination of Mohammed Odeh occurred on Tuesday with a quick funnel procession followed the next day. Mohammed Odeh was elevated to his position just 11 days prior to his assassination and has now been elevated to the status of a martyr. He succeeded Izz al-Din al-Haddad who was also killed by Israeli airstrikes last month. Mohammed Odeh was believed to be anywhere between late 40-50 years of age and has been a lifetime active member of Hamas.

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “Odeh was responsible for the murder, abduction, and wounding of many Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers, we will continue to pursue anyone who took part in the October 7 massacre. Sooner or later, Israel will reach them all.”  This statement came on the heels of the statement made by both the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and the Shin Bet (Israeli intelligence agency) which stated: “As part of the joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet to eliminate the terrorist Mohammed Odeh, several buildings in the heart of Gaza City that served as a hideout for him were attacked, after months of intelligence surveillance in order to track his movements and the movements of his assistants in the organization.”

It should be known that several attempts to assassinate Mohammed Odeh have occurred by the hands of the Israelis with the last assassination attempt taking place in 2025 which claimed the life of his oldest son Amr. The assassination of Mohammed Odeh comes while there is an active ceasefire between Palestine and Israel, while Israel perpetually ignores the ceasefire which appears to be non-existence, 900 Palestinians living in Gaza have been killed by Israel with impunity. Despite the assassination of Mohammed Odeh, it has already been predicted by geopolitical and war analysts that there will be another successor that will take the place of Mohammed Odeh within 30-45 days.

Members of Hamas that get elected to the position of being a senior leader within the organization take on the position fully knowing that they too will become a target for Israel to assassinate at a later date. As this is the case, many within the international community are wondering how many bombs will/can Israeli drop until they run out as there appears to be a new Hamas Official being elected on a rotational basis? Even with the exceptionally high threat of being assassinated, there appears to be no shortage of Hamas members that seem to be deterred from advancing the resistance against Israel and the collective west in Palestine.

While the targeted airstrike that assassinated Mohammed Odeh took place at his home within the al-Kayali building complex, it was confirmed by the Hamas ran health ministry that three people were killed and 20 other people were severely wounded in this latest round of Israeli airstrikes. Residents within the complex stated that they heard a helicopter launch an estimated five missiles were launched at the apartment in which Mohammed Odeh lived. Mohammed Odeh would be the fourth Hamas Military Chief to be assassination by Israeli airstrikes and is currently being mourned throughout Gaza as has continued its undying resistance against Israel and the Collective West.
