[Houston Dynamo Dash Charities Sanchez Elementary School] Today the Houston Dynamo and Dash Charities hosted a “Breakfast for Teachers” at Sanchez Elementary School to express their gratitude for all the hard work that they have put in towards the students they teach and serve. Roughly 20 teachers were recognized for either meeting or exceeding milestones such as having perfect attendance, instructional leadership excellence, and recognizing a teacher(s) who is to receive the “Highest Zearn Achievement Award”. This special teacher’s breakfast wouldn’t be complete without a special appearance from the Houston Dynamo’s and Houston Dash’s “Diesel”, the mascot of both teams.

This Breakfast for Teachers is a part of what is known as “The Houston Promise Initiative". This initiative was created and developed to “increase the number of A- and B- rated schools in the city of Houston. Besides the teachers being both recognized and formally rewarded by school principal Lina Gonzalez, the celebrated teachers were also awarded Houston Dynamo branded paraphernalia. According to Executive Director of Dynamo & Dash Charities Valerie Holland, “this may not be the last and only school that the Houston Dynamo and Dash Charities may host a teacher’s breakfast for.”

From the looks of things, it appears that this teacher’s breakfast, which was hosted by the Houston Dynamo and Dash Charities, was a success. It can easily be said that both teachers and the community are looking to see more teachers being recognized for their hard work given the troubling environment, times, and what many are calling an “Inflammatory Administration” that they serve under.
