[Chef Durand Frierson] We had the pleasure of speaking with the Chef that’s behind keeping the Houston Dash and the Houston Dynamo fueled for their morning workouts; Chef Durand Frierson. In this brief interview, we obtained a rare glimpse of what some of the favorite breakfast dishes of Dash prefer healthy food, but they require that all of their morning dishes are “clean”. What this means is that all of the dishes consumed by the teams must be minimally if not completely unprocessed and the dishes created must use as few ingredients as possible to preserve the physical demands and nutritional integrity of each player.

Before we got started with this brief interview, Chef Durand Frierson made it a point that he likes to work unseen and remain behind the camera. But it appeared that he was open to speaking with us because we have a working relationship with his culinary colleague and friend Chef Latoya Larkin, Creator and Owner of “BlackGirl Tamales” where she specializes in some of the most “Exotic” tamales in the country. During the course of this interview Chef Durand Frierson also spoke briefly about how and who inspired him to get into the culinary industry.
