[Iran Trump cargo ship seizure] Despite brokered ceasefire talks occurring in Islamabad, Pakistan between the Americans and Iran, the Americans recently struck an Iranian and seized an Iranian cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz. American naval forces targeted and fired several rounds of ammunition into the engine room of the cargo ship. The actions of the Americans in the region towards Iran has further degraded ceasefire talks and has now placed commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz into a deadlock. Iran has not only vowed to retaliate but Iran has signaled that they will not be joining the next round of peace talks in Pakistan. It should be noted that the Americans attack and seizure of the Iranian cargo ship came hours right after President Trump agreed to send his team to Islamabad for negotiations.
At the moment, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated to the Press:
“This game is ongoing instead of them playing a positive role. But we cannot expect the Americans to say the truth, they’re always accusing us. It seems that America is not serious at all.”
Geopolitical analysts have long speculated that although Iran has engaged in recent ceasefire talks and negotiations, they have never trusted the Americans to follow through on any kind of deal or negotiation as they have opted to keep their “finger on the trigger” ready to engage should the need arise. The reason for this is because of the historical record of the Americans saying or agreeing to one thing and doing the opposite. Backing the claim of geopolitical analysts is the fact that the Iranian Foreign Ministry has also stated:
“We cannot forget US attacks on us during previous negotiations and that the US is not learning lessons from its experiences. This will never lead to good results.”
While on the surface it appears that the Americans are attacking Iran, it's been argued by some within the international community that America's attacks on Iran are nothing but pseudo violence towards China. The reason why this position has been gaining traction and popularity is because Iran is a major oil and gas supplier to China. For the Americans to engage in pseudo violence towards Iran is to not only cripple Iran's ability to collect payments for their oil exports to China but to chaos havoc in China energy markets. China accounts for an estimated 80-90% or 1.4 million barrels of Iranian oil exports per day.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
While we projected that the Trump Administration's actions in the region were doomed to fail, we also predicted that Iran would most likely stand firm on its promise to rid West Asia of America's military presence in the region. This is seen as on Iran peace-plan demands that the American military were to be ejected from West Asia to secure stability. On the surface, Iran may entertain the Trump Administration's ceasefire talks, but we highly suspect that they will continue to have zero trust in any kind of negotiations with not only the Trump Administration's but with any other American President in the far and distant future.
We are also taking the position that military violence between America and Iran will continue to escalate to the point that other countries such as China, India, and Türkiye, will intervene because of how tensions between the Americans and Iran will ultimately affect their oil and gas markets as the cost of oil per barrel continues to increase. Giving credence to our position is the fact that China has called the recent attack and seizure of the Iranian cargo ship a “forced interception” and that “The situation in the Strait of Hormuz is sensitive and complicated”. It should be expected that Iran is currently rearming and will be doubling down on it’s war of resistance towards the Americans.
