[Iran Israel assassination Esmaeil Khatib] In response to yet another assassination plot carried out by Israel on the Iranian leadership which led to the assassination of Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib, Iran executed a retaliatory missile strike across the state of Israel while specifically counter attacking the Ben Gurion Airport. This latest Israeli assassination mission involved a precision missile strike that also took the life of Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani, who served as the Commander of the Basij Paramilitary Force.
It was said that Minister of Intelligence Essmaeil Khatib was charged with the responsibility of overlooking both sleeper cells in various locations as well as being directly over the Iranian government's military operations around the world. With Iran launching its counter-offensive on Israel, at least two Israelis were killed and many others were wounded. Other parts of Israel were also hit. Ramat Aviv, Neta, and Jaljulia also fell due to the severity of Iran retaliatory strikes. Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei stated the following in response to Israeli assassination of its military leaders:
“Every drop of spilled blood comes at a price, and the criminal murderers of these martyrs will soon have to pay it.”
But Israel wasn’t the only country that was struck by Iran retaliatory measures, neighboring countries Qatar and Saudi Arabia were also amongst the countries that were caught in the cross hairs of Iran. In Qatar, Iran's counterstrike in Ras Laffan led to a large portion of the Liquified natural gas (LNG) refinery being demolished. This resulted in international gas prices skyrocketing to just over $110 per barrel. Socio-economic shockwaves are expected to ripple across global oil and gas supplies for weeks to come.
In Saudi Arabia, Iran executed a missile launch that resulted in a barrage of missiles entering Saudi airspace and while Saudi Arabia was able to intercept eight missiles several other missiles fired by Iran were able to make it through and that resulted in the injury of four people. Meanwhile in Iran, thousands if not millions of Iranians took to the streets not only in support of the actions of the Iranian government despite the narrative pushed by western mainstream corporate news; but to mourn the martyrdom of the recently ship by the Americans which claimed the lives of 87 people, and the recent assassination of Iranian Intelligence Officer Ali Larijani.
