[Israel Lebanon Hezbollah talks] Today For the first time in 40 years, Israel and Lebanon held talks that could prove to shift diplomatic relations in a positive direction for both countries in the southern Lebanese city of Naqoura. Today's talks between the countries were centered around normalization, the possibility of a ceasefire between the two countries, and the creation of a peace process that could possibly dampen the embedded hostilities between the two nations. It should be noted that the talks between Israel and Lebanon were not held by “Diplomats” but were instead held by the civilian envoys of both countries.
The three hour talks also included Israel's claims of Hezbollah rearming. This was met by supporters of Hezbollah who felt that Hezbollah was well within their rights to take military action against Israel for executing an assassination mission last week in Lebanon in which Hezbollah leader Haytham Tabtabai was the target via missile strike which claimed the lives of several civilians and wounded others. To date since the supposed ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon which took effect last month, Israeli strikes have killed 300 people with a total of 10,000 acts of violence carried out by Israel in the past year. Hezbollah has yet to retaliate against Israel for their actions. Beyond that, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated that Hezbollah “has not deterred Israel and has not protected Lebanon”. But many would argue that if Hezbollah agrees to disarmament, what organization or professional military will stand in its place to defend Lebanon from Israel taking aggressive military action to seize more Lebanese land than they already have?
Beside the civilian envoys engaging in talks today, the question that remains is “What is Hezbollah's next move?” Currently, the answer to that question is unknown and there doesn’t seem to be any compelling speculation that could serve as a possible answer to that question. The one thing that is known is that Hezbollah will never choose the route of disarmament and the Lebanese military appears to be reluctant to place any pressure on Hezbollah to do so. There is a growing number of Geopolitical analysts that take the position that the government and official military of Lebanon should be doing more to repel the extrajudicial killing of its citizens and attacks on its infrastructure.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
It is our position that nothing will come of today's talks between Israel and Lebanon envoys. The reason for this is because even though Hezbollah abided by the November 27th ceasefire terms in which they withdrew north of the Litani River; Israel has failed to fully withdraw from Lebanon and the proof of this lies in the fact that Israel has never ceased to stop the broadening of their war of genocide from Palestine into Lebanon.
Today's talks between Israeli and Lebanon civilian envoys are to be considered nothing more than verbal masturbation and should not be taken seriously. In fact, it should be advised that Hezbollah should seek both creative and alternative ways to better efficiently rearm and embrace the inevitable reality. That reality is that they will have to launch a proactive offensive in conjunction with Iran and Yemen to keep Israel in check or risk losing what little left they have.
