[Jeffery Taylor Triumphant Reentry Resources] It’s not every day that members of the Press get the honor to interview people like Jeffery Taylor. What makes Jeffery Taylor unique is that he served not only in the U.S. Army, but he served prison time in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice which is simply known as TDCJ. Serving 25 years in TDCJ is no small feat for anyone who is familiar with the prison system in Texas. Unlike most prisons where there is a basic level of care given to inmates, TDCJ has perpetually failed to meet the basic needs of inmates. Jeffery Taylor is the founder of “Triumphant Reentry Resources” simply referred to as “TRR”.
From rats and roaches, to being exposed to extreme weather conditions often without respite, Jeffery Taylor has successfully managed to serve as a both a success story, but also as an example of beacon of light for inmates in and outside of Texas while “Carrying the torch of second chances” for ex-offenders. In this interview we touched on a number of topics that range from his perspective on prison culture, to his religious faith, to his perspective on today's employment crisis and how it affects inmates after they leave prison, to how his company TRR has helped many ex-offenders regain the strength to achieve success once they leave the clutches of TDCJ.
