[Kevin Edwards Victoria Mason Walking Tall Fashion Show] This past Friday, both Kevin Edwards and Victoria Mason spearheaded a fashion show in partnership with Houston Independent School District (HISD) called the “Walking Tall Fashion Show” which was presented by the FAB Club at the Ray K. Daily Gym located at 12909 Briar Forest Drive, Houston, Texas 77077. At the Walking Tall Fashion Show, HISD students not only displayed their fashion sense and designer skills, but they were able to strut down the runway displaying the latest fashion trends. From streetwear to formal attire, the students under the leadership of Kevin Edwards and Victoria Mason also had the opportunity to do more than display the latest youth fashion trends, they were able to increase their level of self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness and hone their ability to speak in front of large crowds.
What the parents who attended the Walking Tall Fashion Show really seemed to enjoy was the fact that the show was all inclusive; meaning that the show was exceptionally diversified so that all students from all walks of life could not only participate in the fashion show, but could have the ability to walk the run way. There were lots of cheers from fellow students, teachers, staff, and parents as their students, many for the first time showed the public what they were made of in terms of facing their possible fears, hesitations, and anxieties. This was both a show and an evening to remember as the Walking Tall Fashion Show will be talked about for a long time throughout the walls of HISD.
Along with the fashion show, there were also student-led musical acts in the form of dance and voice that took to the stage; again displaying the school and HISD's ethnically diverse range within its student body. The Walking Tall Fashion Show was a must see and students, teachers, and parents alike are looking forward to the next one.
