[Leagues Cup 2025 Club América Minnesota United FC] in what many fans are calling “one hell of game” tonight at Shell Energy Stadium between Club América and Minnesota United FC to see who will reign supreme after its all said and done during this year’s Leagues Cup; both teams appear to be determined to win Saturday. With both teams scoring in the first half and Minnesota United FC leading club América 1-2, it's safe to say that both teams have the crowds on the edge of their seats. For Club América, it would be Michael Boxall who would score the first goal of the match and for Minnesota United FC, it would be both Tani Oluwaseyi and Bongokuhle Hlonwane that would score in the first half.
Looking at the key stats of the first half, Club América took a total of 9 shots with 2 shots on target while the Minnesota United took 3 shots and landed 2 shots on target. But just when a few thought that the match was over at the 89th minute, Sebastián Cáceres scored a goal for Club América again tying the score 3-3. This spectacular turn of events electrified the fans of Club América and threw the match into overtime, extending the match by 7 minutes. Neither team were able to score a goal in the extended time, leading to both teams having to resort to penalty kicks in order to decide the winner of Saturday’s match which stood at Club América defeating Minnesota United FC 8-7.
