[LIGA MX TOLUCA FC CLUB LEON] The question that’s on the minds of all the fans of Toluca FC is “Do they have what it takes to win this year's League Cup?” With Toluca scoring two goals winning the semi-final match over Club León, who took a devastating loss this past Wednesday, it appears that the fire is still in the belly of both Toluca FC and their fans. Scoring two goals for Toluca this past Wednesday was center-back Federico Pereira and forward Federico Vinas at the 41’ and 69’ minute of the match respectively.
Looking at the key stats for that match Toluca took a total of 19 shots, with five of those shots being on target. Meanwhile Club León took a total of nine shots with only two of those shots being on target. Toluca possessed the ball 57% of the time while Club León possessed the ball only 43% of the time during the match. Fans from both teams can indisputably say that the match was both highly competitive as well as highly aggressive as both teams did their best to declare victory over one another. Attesting to this fact was the fact that Toluca racked up 16 fouls and Club León racked up 14 fouls by the end of the match.
Adding fuel to the fire, Toluca acquired two yellow cards and one red card. In contrast, Club León acquired five yellow cards and tied with Toluca with acquiring one red card. Toluca was called for being offside one time, Club León had no calls for being offside throughout the match. Toluca took a total of four corners while Club León took five corners. With Toluca FC ranking number two in the Liga MX, fans seem to be clinging to the dream of them knocking off Club América for the number one spot this Sunday in Liga MX.
