Seniors date night event hosted by the Thai Garden
It was a Friday evening when we decided to stop into the Thai Garden restaurant located at 6324 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX 77057. Upon entry we were surprised to hear live music and couples dancing on the dance floor. The lights were dimmed, and the atmosphere was lively with a sense of openness in the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was exceptionally clean and tidy, furnished with wooden décor and had an operating full bar that served some of the best drink combinations we’ve seen in a while.
Thai Fried Rice with Fried Calamari
Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Steve and Weeraya Tennison and coming up on their first year of being in business, this particular Thai restaurant has been doing extraordinarily well in the Houston area. If you are searching for and/or are a lover of fresh food in days and times where processed foods have seemed to have taken over the market – the Thai Garden restaurant is for you. Without question the food is fresh here and portion sizes are large. We can say this because we ordered the Thai Chicken Fried Rice from their menu. The vegetables in the dish are cooked just right (soft but crisp), the spices used in the dish further bring out the flavors of the food and the chicken is fresh.
Fresh fried calamari
In addition to the Thai Chicken Fried Rice we ordered, we also had their fried calamari with spicy sauce. Again, the freshness of the appetizer was also present and served on a bed of lettuce. What made their fried calamari stand out to us was the fact that it was prepared from start to finish by hand. This is important because all too often in the food and restaurant industry, food items such as calamari come prepared, precooked, and frozen before it gets to the restaurant. This is not the case at the Thai Garden restaurant.
Thai Garden Owners Steve & Weeraya Tennison
What we mean by this is that, typically when you go to most other restaurants, chicken tastes like chicken and it tends to taste good – but here at the Thai Garden restaurant the chicken just seems to have this extra “pop” in flavor that will most definitely send your taste buds over the edge. In short, it’s just really delicious and will leave you wanting more. Another thing that makes the Thai Garden restaurant special is the fact that they have real chefs from Thailand preparing and cooking all the menu items. When we spoke with owners Steve and Weeraya Tennison, they told us that they purposely decided to go this route so that they could ensure that the patrons of this eatery could have the opportunity to have the experience of eating and enjoying authentic Thai food.
Live Music happen twice a week at the Thai Garden
Moreover, owners Steve and Weeraya Tennison made it a point to inform us that all the ingredients that are used to prepare their dishes at the Thai Garden are both individually inspected and chosen for freshness and cosmetic appearance. This level of dedication by the owners of the Thai Garden is considered to be above and beyond for most restaurants in the United States, many of which are known to have restaurants that will serve you anything as long as it’s not rotten. The wait staff at the Thai Garden are warm, professional, and friendly and eager to accommodate the guests that decide to dine at their establishment.
Beyond the freshness of the food – which we are thankful to God for; the thing that we love the best about this restaurant is the transparency and the high level of care they embark on when it comes to choosing, preparing, and cooking authentic Thai foods for the Houston community. Outside of that, there’s plenty of parking in the front and rear of their parking lot and if you’re worried about cost – don’t fret. Everything on the menu at the Thai Garden is cost conscious; meaning that the majority of people in Houston and abroad will be able to afford to eat here.
