[Naveed Akram mass shooting Israel Sydney Australia] Early this morning in Sydney Australia, two shooters unleashed raged via gun fire at a Hanukkah candle lighting event on Bondi Beach in a crowd of over 1,000 attendees leaving 12 people killed and 29 other people wounded. An Australian police officer, an Assistant Israeli Rabbi by the name of Eli Schlanger, a 12-year girl, and one of the shooters were amongst those killed in what Australian law enforcement authorities calling this mass shooting event a terrorist attack. The mass shooting took place at roughly 6:47pm (18 hours ago) Sydney time. While the motive of the mass shooters is unclear, it is highly speculated by law enforcement that this incident was a targeted attack against the Jewish population in Australia in retribution for what the Israel’s war of genocide on the people of Palestine, specifically the people of Gaza and the West Bank.
One of the shooters who was severely injured during the mass shooting is identified as Naveed Akram a 25-year-old Pakistani man that was living in Bonnyrigg, which is a suburb located in the state of New South Wales which is located on the southeast side of Sydney. Naveed Akram attended Central Queensland University in Sydney, Al Murad Institute (Sydney), and Hamdard University which is in Islamabad, Pakistan. Law enforcement authorities stated to the Press that this is an “ongoing investigation” and that “multiple lines of inquiry are being pursued” as they peer into the background and motive of the shooters.
At this time, the police suspect that there may be another shooter involved but haven’t drawn any conclusive evidence yet.
