[RUSSIA VLADIMIR PUTIN XI JINPING CHINA] Today Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed both Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people just before his scheduled visit. During his brief address, he touched on not only how the Russian government will continue to honor the strategic partnership that was signed by both countries over 25 years ago, but to reaffirm Russia's commitment to China during the highly turbulent geopolitical times the world is facing. From the promotion of travel and tourism between both countries to the continued engagement of bilateral trade between both countries, President Putin appears ready to engage China on these fronts and many more. It should be noted that President Putin’s address to China comes on the heels of American President Trump's visit to China which came with a rather lukewarm response from the international community.
