[Sanae Takaichi China Taiwan Japan] As of late the remarks about Japan's position on the Chinese territory of Taiwan by the new Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi has prompted China to fortify its stance on not only Taiwan, but the diplomatic relationship between China and Japan. With China recently issuing a travel freeze on Japan, both Japan's tourism sector and stock market took a nosedive. It is estimated because of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s remarks, Japan has lost an estimated $14-$15 billion dollars in roughly 24 hours. It should be noted that China is one of Japan's biggest consumers.
What prompted Japan to sound alarm bells was because of China's navy setting sail around the Senkaki and Yonaguni islands and conducting live fire drills near them. The conflict of interest lies in the fact that although Japan controls this series of islands, China lays claim to them as well. This situation is heightened Because of American interference in the Chinese-Taiwan relations, the provocations by Japan has caused China to be even more hawkish than it previously has. Some geopolitical analysis believe that China is simply overreacting, but many others are highlighting the symbolism that they feel could lead to a physical altercation between the two countries. Symbolic or not, China has already turned down meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister at the upcoming 20 summit.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
Having only been in office for three weeks, we can't help but wonder if Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's first miscalculation is the start of a domino effect of miscalculations in which China will successfully counters with action. Beyond that, we can't help but wonder if Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has plans to establish either a Japanese imperial army 2.0 or become more a vassal state of America than what it already is.
This is either the first miscalculation or intentional provocation of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. Right now, it's still too early to make a prediction, let alone speculate as to what Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's next move will be or why she is even embarking on the decisions that she is making. We, like the rest of the world is watching.
