The highly educated and passionately spoken Dr. Cornel West is now running for President. For many people this may appear to be shocking, given his position on the United States and its stance on both domestic and international relations. If you know anything about Dr. Cornel West, you would/should know that he has always been outspoken on subjects such as American Policing and the way it's applied to the American People - especially when it comes to how police interact with Black Americans. He has also been highly critical of America when it comes to its policies on both domestic and international affairs and relations. Dr. Cornel West has always spoken out against the U.S. expanding its military on the world stage and even more importantly Dr. Cornel West has always done one thing exceptionally well - and that is, being the voice of the poor, working class, and middle-class people within the United States.
As far as we can tell during the above-mentioned interview his talking points are clear and concise and straight to the point without all the political fluff career politicians tend to inject into the conversations. We think that the average man and woman of the United States can not only appreciate that but can more importantly understand Dr. West’s position and perception on the issues that plague the United States. Furthermore, we think that the average man and woman may be more open to both his solutions and plans of how to attack these issues, so that the average U.S. Citizen may have peace at home and abroad.
What we like best about Dr. West is his no holds barred approach to tackling things such as race, ethnicity and gender, discrimination, the Prison-Industrial Complex, public policy and social issues, policing, the Military-Industrial Complex, education, economic policy, and reform. We know that’s a lot to say considering that Dr. West is not running on a Blue (Democratic) or Red (Republican) Ticket. You read it correctly. Dr. West is running on what is known as a “Green Ticket” or under “Green State Politics” who’s political perspective is founded on the following according to Green Party U.S. (gp.org)
“grassroots activists, environmentalists, advocates for social justice, nonviolent resisters and regular citizens who’ve had enough of corporate-dominated politics.”
We think that is something that a lot of people can agree with. The ideas of focusing on “Peace, equality, social justice and democracy” (gp.com) could be just what America needs right now. But who knows? Maybe the people of America may finally say they’ve had enough of the Donkey’s (Democrats) and the Elephants (Republicans) in the room and support a true academic scholar that is qualified to run for the seat of the President of the United States. Maybe, the American People are tired of career politicians to include whoever becomes the President of the United States being controlled by Lobbyists, Special Interest Groups, and privately owned businesses. Only time will tell in the 2024 National Election.
