Yikes! The entire world wants to know what’s going on in France where the entire country seems to be invaded by bedbugs? Now for those of you that don’t know anything about bedbugs, they are incredibly difficult to get rid of once you have them. The primary reason for this is because they are so small and by the time they’ve gotten to where you can see them – it’s far too late in the game to start your campaign of trying to get rid of them. These insanely pesky invaders feed off dead human tissue cells and their victim’s blood while their victims are asleep leaving bite marks all over the victims’ body. Again, bedbugs are insanely difficult to get rid of.
But in the case of France, it's kind of difficult to reach a conclusion as to how a country wide bedbug epidemic can even be what it is today. For many people that are uninformed they’re likely to say, “maybe the French are unsanitary”. But although being “unsanitary” could lead to an explosion in the growth of a bedbug population – it is nowhere near the leading cause of why bedbug infestations start in the first place. You don’t have to be “dirty” or “unsanitary” in this case in order to have an infestation of bedbugs. It’s just not a situation of anyone being “dirty”. More likely than not, the bedbug infestation in France may have its origins in either the vast travel, tourism and migration sectors or a combination of these sectors of the French country. Anyone from anywhere could bring bedbugs with them when they travel and not even know about it.
There are some people that live in France that are saying that the bedbug situation is overblown – but whether that’s true or not, people don’t really care. And since people within the international community tend to not really care if something like this is true or not; they may opt to not travel to France until France clears this situation up. The one thing that France is worried about is a drop in travel and tourism within their country due to this bedbug infestation. Why? Because of the loss of economic revenue that is typically associated with travel and tourism. In short, the infestation of bedbugs in France has now become both an optical nightmare and a financial security risk for the French Government.
