Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Group & Huawei's Maextro S800 ultra luxury sedan
Move over America, the Trump Administration is making China great again. Just when you thought Chinese car manufacturing couldn’t get any better with the likes of BYD (Build Your Dream), there seems to be several Chinese car manufacturers that are quickly rising in the ranks with the help of technological advancement in software by Huawei. Chinese car manufactures like SERES and Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Group are looking to be the tip of the spear when it comes to not only affordability, cost and quality, outside of BYD, but also in terms of ultra luxury.
It’s safe to say at this point that American (and European) car manufactures are no longer relevant in the auto industry. Although the vast majority of Americans have never heard of SERES Group or Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Group, they have heard of Huawei. For America, Huawei is known for manufacturing AI Chips, cell phones, wearable tech, laptops, tablets, and being the main subject of American news outlets. But in more recent times, Huawei has decided to diversify its portfolio in terms of creating and developing information, communications, and software for the EV (electric vehicle) market.
While Americans are finding themselves locked out of the opportunity to purchase any car made from China due to politics and tariffs, that hasn’t stopped the rest of the world from buying Chinese EV’s. Looking at the team up between SERES & Huawei, for the AITO line of electric SUV, they appear to be not only quite impressive but an extension of what automotive quality and technology should be like. With a price tag that’s slightly higher than BYD, but most certainly more affordable than any American car in the same class, the starting cost of AITO ESUV starts at around $32,700 (USD) and can go up to $70,000 (USD) depending on model and trim package.

SERES & Huawei's SF5 Extended Range ESUV
To date, it was reported that SERES & Huawei delivered 31,727 ESUV’s and was able to grow their share in the market by roughly 762% from 2024. No matter which AITO model is purchased, all owners get what’s called the “Harmony OS 3 “Infotainment System” software installed in their cars which is developed by Huawei. Other Huawei technological features in AITO cars include a digital cockpit with multiple screens and a whole host of the latest and updateable advanced Huawei software pre-installed into their car to the like Americans won’t see for at least another 10 years.
But SERES Group is not the only company Huawei is working with in the EV market. Apparently, Huawei has played a vital role in the Chinese ultra luxury sedan market as well. The Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Group is another car manufacturer Huawei is working with. With the Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Group, Huawei was able to get their software embedded into their cars as well. The car that everyone outside America has their eyes on is the Maextro S800 and it’s seen as a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benzes Maybach. Outside of looking at this cars’ extraordinary exterior and interior, it’s easy to see how and why Huawei is able to play such a vital role in developing the highly advanced software for this ultra luxury sedan.
Huawei was able furnish the Maextro S800 with Heads-Up-Display (HUD) technology, the ability for the owner to personalize their driving experience, rear projection screen, 4 zone climate control, wireless cell phone charging, compressor refrigerator, black-out capability, dual/triple motor drivetrain, intelligent driving (self-driving), satellite network capability, and AI assistance. Huawei was also to provide software solutions to aid in automatic parking, Li-dar sensors, cloud computing, collision detection, GPS, as well as providing the car with its deep learning technology to aid in road safety sensing capabilities. All this and more comes with the purchase of the Maextro S800 ultra luxury sedan.
It is expected that the Chinese auto manufacturing industry will continue to advance in the foreseeable future while American cars (and products) will unfortunately diminish in both quality and demand.
