[Inocensia Moreno Texas Congressional District 145] We took the timeout to speak with Republican Candidate Inocensia Moreno, and it was easily concluded that that she was not only fun loving and relatable, but she was exceptionally confident in her abilities to be elected to the seat of Texas District 145. As with all political figures we inquired about what inspired her to want to campaign for this position. Inocensia Moreno stated that her focus if elected to office would be community safety, Texas youth, and law enforcement. While speaking about law enforcement, we had to speak about the series of ICE (Immigration Custom and Enforcement) high profiled shootings that took place in various parts of the country that left several Americans killed.
In terms of Texas youth, the focus of our conversation was centered around how to increase employment opportunities for this seemingly forgotten demographic. One of her solutions consisted of mentorship and internships. On the local front, we talked about the new ruling by the Houston City Council in which the City Council voted to utilize funding that was meant to solve Houston's perpetual issue with flooding for the demolition of abandoned houses. Inocensia Moreno also spoke briefly on Houston City Council Member Edward Pollard and his fight against prostitution within his District (District J). She also revealed that she was a staunch supporter of seeking more ways to attract businesses to Houston.
Outside of politics, we wanted to know more about Inocensia Moreno as a person and not so much as a political candidate. Inocensia Moreno talked about her upbringing and revealed to us that she enjoys being a DJ, being a fan of the Houston Texans and Houston Rockets. Inocensia Moreno also stated that she follows the Houston Astros, the University of Houston’s Cougars, and high school sports teams.
