[Nvidia Jensen Huang Trump Tariff’s] Thanks to American President Trump's global draconian tariff’s, it seems like Nvidia's days in the Chinese market are coming to an end. Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang recently admitted that Huawei has essentially “Caught up” with them in the advanced AI chip manufacturing space. In fact, Jensen Huang stated in a recent interview that Nvidia might struggle to compete in China if President Trump's tariffs persist. This left some speculators to the conclusion that Nvidia might have to foreclose its doors in the Chinese sector. Backing the position of market speculators were the following words from Nvidia:
“We may be unable to create a competitive product for China's data center market that receives approval from the United States government. in that event, we would effectively be foreclosed from competing in China's data computing/computer market, which would have a material and adverse impact on our business.”
These words came just before Nvidia Jensen Huang made the following statement:
“Huawei’s technology, based on our best understanding at the moment, is probably comparable to an H200. They’ve been moving quite fast. They’ve also offered this new system called Cloud Matrix”, which scales up to an even larger system than our latest generation, Grace Blackwell. Huawei, as you know, is a formidable technology company. And they're not sitting still. They look for ways to compete, and they’re quite formidable.”
This news from the Nvidia CEO comes on the heels of him recently visiting China and desperately engaging in talks with Chinese firms to convince them that Nvidia will do whatever they can to serve the Chinese market.
Nvidia falling victim to President Trump's tariffs has been forced in the position to only sell the scaled down version of their advance chips which are critical for business not only in China but around the world in order to compute high-end computing processes. This has created an opportunity for rival Chinese company Huawei to fill the vacuum left by Nvidia. If Nvidia falls, the fallout would be incalculable for not only America, but for other countries that are following behind the footsteps of American sanctions.
Issues such as American job losses, national security, logistics, automation, and American trade and commerce will all be affected. In our previous article entitled: “NVIDIA FORECLOSING IN CHINA HUAWEI FOR THE WIN”, we highlighted the fact that:
“America’s sanctions have allowed them [China] to become even more self-sufficient than they ever were in the past. With that, according to China and Huawei, American sanctions have also allowed Chinese consumers to not only wean themselves off American products such as Apple's i-Phone, but American sanctions have also significantly increased Chinese domestic consumption of their own tech products, while strengthening China's own economy.”
To many people in China, the intended effects of President Trump's reciprocal tariffs have presented opposite effects necessary for the growth and development of China, especially in the tech sector. What is meant by this is that President Trump has placed China to not only be more self-sufficient, but the reciprocal tariffs placed on China has made him a hero to many Chinese businesses.
