[Russia declares G7 “useless”] The Kremlin (Russia) recently stated that the G7 was “useless”. The G7 which consist of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, European Union, France, Italy, and Japan began their 57th summit yesterday in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada and is set to conclude today. This year's G7 summit will be centered around hot topic issues such as the Iran-Israel war, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the main issue regarding the global economy. But is Russia right in its assessment that the G7 has become useless? Looking at the state of the global economy it appears to the average man on the street agrees with Russia that the G7 has become in fact useless.
Japan, like most of the world, is at odds with the Trump Administration subjecting the world to its tariffs. Canada is in step with several national airline carriers to boycott summer travel to the United States. The European Union is not only in economic straits but is seeking to continue aiding Ukraine which not only further fuels the war between Ukraine and Russia but prolongs the war between the two nations with no chance of Ukraine winning in sight.
France has been essentially kicked out of Africa and is considering recognizing Palestine as a state against the wishes of other nations that make up the collective west. Germany is seeking to also aid Ukraine and is ramping up their spending on their arm forces as they have been deployed for the first time since World War 2. The United Kingdom is economically broke and irrelevant in the world stage; and lastly, Italy is facing problems that range from immigration to poverty, to low labor productivity to excessively high public debt.
The question now becomes: “If the nations that make up the G7 can't fix the problems and issues in their own countries, how are they going to solve any of the problems the world is facing?” President Trump made the following statement just before he left the G7 summit early due to an emergency because of the Israel-Iran war that ejecting Russia from the G7 “was a big mistake” and that the Ukraine-Russia war would have never happened. Spokesperson for the kremlin Dmitry Peskov stated:
“Giving the declining share of the G7 countries in the global economy, given all of the trends that are observed in the G7 countries and, of course, against the backdrop of, for example, such formats as the G20, the G7 looks dull and rather useless”.
Many agree with the perspective of the Kremlin, but with President Trump flirting with the idea of not only granting Russia reentry into the G7, but also including China into the G7, many are wondering if Russia and China who are huge supporters of one another will “take the bait”.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA COMMUNICATIONS LLC.
Russia will decline to be a part of the G7 for several reasons. The first is that it cannot trust the United States. This is not to say that the United States is distrustful, but with the switching out of a president every four years, any long-term stability looks uncertain in the eyes of Russia (and other countries). Secondly, Russia will not seek reentry into the G7 due to the fact of not only the sanctions G7 member countries have imposed on Russia but because Russia is currently thriving because it’s not a part of the G7.
What we mean by this is that African countries and neighboring countries such as China, Iran, and North Korea have significantly strengthened their relationships with Russia via treaties and military corporations. So, we were correct in our position of President Trump (and his allies) being a dollar short and a minute too late to make any corrections when it comes to their relationship with Russia.
In terms of China becoming a part of the G7, it's safe to say that it’s simply not going to happen. China doesn’t even like to refer to itself as a “developed country”, they prefer to refer to themselves as a “developing country”. This leaves room for them to grow in a multitude of aspects in the arena of the G20 countries. in terms of global economic growth, there’s likely to be no significant global economic growth due to President Trump trade tariffs with have left the global trade market in limbo but has wreaked havoc on the global trade market in which new ways have emerged for countries to conduct trade which have permanently restricted the global supply chain and ways of conducting business. There's simply no coming back from the new normal.
Our prediction is that this year's G7 summit will be the same as last year's G7 summit – filled with lots of verbal masturbation but with nothing “cumming” into fruition.
