[Sheba Roy Holly Cotton] In this second segment of interview Sheba Roy of CreativeAF MUZE and Holly Cotton, we talked about and explored some of the issues that are plaguing the historic Acres Homes community here in Houston. From issues surrounding gentrification and the lack of healthy food options, to the fact that much of the Acres Homes Neighborhood can be considered a food desert by many standards. Holly Cotton also chimed in as she as a Nurse and Health and Wellness coach attested to the fact that she had difficulty finding healthy food options anytime she comes to the Acres Homes neighborhood.

Articulating her perspective as a nurse, Holy cotton also talked about health disparities that are associated with many neighborhoods in Houston like Acres Homes and what the City of Houston can do to not only address but solve many of the issues of neighborhoods like Acres Homes. We also talked about how transportation plays a vital role in accelerating both the health crisis and the systematic dilapidation of the historic Acres Homes neighborhood over time.
