The meeting at the White House between President Donald Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Both Presidents started off like all heads of states do by complementing each other and expressing their views about how they plan to work together in terms of trade and commerce. After about 10 minutes of healthy dialogue White House Reporters began lobbying questions towards both Presidents, mainly towards President Trump. Typical questions regarding immigration and deportation and the White South African who were granted asylum in America were asked. Questions and comments on the conflict surrounding Ukraine-Russia, Israel-Gaza, and India-Pakistan were also exchanged between both Presidents and the American Press.
Vice President J.D. Vance and Elon Musk were also in attendance during the meeting. During the course of the meeting between the President s, President Donald Trump allowed the playing of a series of videos featuring what he calls evidence of discrimination of White South Afrikaners by Black South Afrikaners in a preplanned ambush style geared towards the South African President and his team of diplomats just after he ask for the lights to be dimmed in the meeting room.
In the ambush video that was shown by President Trump which called for the shooting of White people in what was supposed to be South Africa took South African President Cyril Ramaphosa by surprise. President Trump also took the time out to show video footage of what he calls “over a 1,000 burial sites of White Farmers and the family of White Farmers”. In what seemed like an honest rebuttal, the President of South Africa stated toward President Trump: “have they told you where that is Mr. President, I’d like to know where that is. This I’ve never seen”.
When asked about the Qatari jet that was gifted towards President Trump, President Trump not only took offense to the question but defended the Qatari government while belittling an MSNBC journalist by stating:
“You’re a terrible reporter; you don’t have what it takes to be a reporter. You’re not smart enough you to go into a subject about a jet that was given to the united states air force which was a very nice thing, they also gave $5.1 trillion worth of investment in addition to the jet – you ought to go back to your studio in NBC because brain Roberts and the people that run that place they ought to be investigated the way you run that network. You’re a disgrace – no more questions from you.”
President Trump also went on a tirade while shifting through a series of handheld printed images which were supposed to be White South African Farmers that were killed by racist Black South Afrikaners. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa pushed back against Trump's claims by stating:
“The speeches that you saw [in the video] were not government policy. We have a multi-party democracy in South Africa that allows people to express themselves, political parties to adhere to various policies, and in many cases or in some cases those policies do not go alone with our government policy. Our government policy is completely against what he was saying, even in parliament and they are a small minority party which is allowed to exist under our constitution.
While the South African President attempted to correct President Trump by informing him that most people killed in his country are not White but Black people, American President Trump strongly disagreed. While Elon Musk is from South Africa, President Trump elected not to engage Mr. Musk in this subject matter. The South African minister of agriculture was also in attendance and addressed President Trump during the meeting. The diplomatic members of South America including the South African President talked to President Trump about their social issues pertaining to gang violence, investments, lack of employment opportunities, and general security issues.
