UAE ISSUES RED LINE TO ISRAEL ON WEST BANK EXPANSION
UAE ISSUES RED LINE TO ISRAEL ON WEST BANK EXPANSION

[UAE issues red line Israel] United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Ministry's Assistant Minister Lana Nusseibeh stated in a recent Israel times interview that the “Annexation in the West Bank would constitute a red line for the UAE”. The reason stated was because “It would severely undermine the vision and spirit of the accord, end the pursuit of regional integration and would alter the widely shared consensus on what the trajectory of this conflict should be – two States living side by side in peace, prosperity and security”. This comes as Israel has declared its plan to expand its military presence into four-fifths of the densely populated West Bank where an estimated 3.4 million Palestinians reside. For now, the words of  UAE’s Assistant Foreign Minister have halted Israel from pushing further into the West Bank.

The red line that UAE’s Assistant Foreign Minister Lana Nusseibeh is referring to is what's known as the Abraham Accords which brokered by the Americans in 2020 resulted in the UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel. Within the Abraham accords, it was agreed that Israel would not annex any parts of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley; despite this Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel would only “suspend” any such endeavor. Israeli officials also stated that the commitment made during the time of the Abraham Accords has “expired”. In a recent statement from the UAE, Israel's only choice on the table is annexation or integration.

Per usual, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stuck to the claim that recognizing Palestine as a State would only “reward terrorism”, a claim that much of the international community has perceived as illegitimate. With Marco Rubio not only traveling to visit Israeli settlers near the Palestinian village of Silwan (East Jerusalem) and blocking Palestinian leaders from attending the United Nations general assembly this month, but Geopolitical Analysts also believe that both America and Israel are doing more harm than good in terms of finding diplomatic solutions to solve the tensions between both States.

If Israel decided to militarily annex the West Bank, UAE officials have stated that it would freeze normalizations with Israel and that a withdrawal from the Abraham Accords which took effect during the first Trump Administration is the most “realistic” option if Israel decided to continue down this path.

OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS

Like most Arab and Muslim countries, the words spoken by UAE’s Assistant Foreign Minister Lana Nusseibeh are to be considered nothing more than an empty threat towards Israel. The reason why we are taking this position here at VEDA World News is because if the UAE wanted or could do anything about what's happening in Palestine and Gaza specifically, they would have done it by now. Simply condemning Israel or any other country for that matter not only falls on deaf ears, but it adversely affects the credibility of the Nation or State that’s issuing the threat.

The truth is the UAE, like Saudi Arabia and Jordan appear to only care about two things: money and how to keep the concentration of power within their current monarchies. With well over 65,000 Palestinians killed and counting, Israel has enough ammunition in lives to call the UAE’s bluff and annex the entire West Bank anyway. Again, out prediction is clear, only a conglomerate of private military contractors or a country like Türkiye can stop Israel from continuing is raging genocide against the people of Palestine.
