INDIA: IS WHITE COLLAR TERRORISM THE NEW TERRORISM? | RED FORT METRO STATION BOMBERS

[White Collar Terrorism India] Two days ago, Delhi, India was hit with by a devastating suicide bomber that claimed the lives of 20 people while wounding seven plus others at the Red Fort Metro Station. It was reported by Indian authorities that in the last three days, they were able to uncover three distinct terror operations across five Indian states that could have endangered hundreds if not thousands of Indians. It appears now that with terrorism evolving into white collar terrorism where operatives have become “radicalized, decentralized and adaptive". Up until now the question was “who were the people behind the attacks?”

With no official motive confirmed Indian investigators have suspected several legitimate doctors are the sources of the suicide bombings. Doctor’s Omar Muhammad, Adil Ahmed Radar, Shaheen Shahid, and Muzam Shakil. Indian investigators have reached the conclusion that all three Doctors were in contact with each other moments before the first bomb detonated. Despite this, Indian authorities believe that the detonation of the bomb was not intentional during the time and location of the explosion. Their reasoning for this is because the Hyundai i20 that Dr. Oman Muhammad was operating was still in motion prior to the detonation and may have been detonated by accident or out of fear.

So far investigators discovered several weapons depots across several Indian states made up of small arms with one of the weapons staches including ricin toxin. Investigators have also reached the conclusion that the weapons and possibly the ricin was delivered just over the Indian Pakistani border via drone at a discrete location known only to the suspects. According to Indian authorities, all the doctors in question are somewhat affiliated with the splintered faction of ISIS but directly come from the TTP (Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan) which formed earlier this year.

Indian authorities believe that their professional careers provided them operational cover.

“It should also be known that as times change, so does the way terrorism is executed. Long gone are the days when some obviously crazed lunatic sprayed random gunfire into a crowd of people. Today terrorism has evolved into sophisticated networks often with legitimate operatives that have legal businesses which hide their tradecraft and their elaborate plots. Terrorists today are also more advanced than ever before, and in the case of India, they are so advanced that they tend to go undetected until they strike.”

While Indian investigators have reached the conclusion that the bomb that detonated at the Red Fort Station may have either been detonated by accident or out of fear’ we are taking the position that it could be possible that that bomb may have been detonated remotely as a fail-safe mechanism just in case the bomber got cold feet. There appears to be an uptick in both the rise of white-collar terrorism and rogue operatives that are dispersed not only in and around India, but around the globe. The question that we are asking is “How many rouge white collar terrorist cells have made it to the shores of America or are they domestic in origin to America?". Like the rest of the world, we are watching.
