ANTI-ICE PROTEST IN HOUSTON, TEXAS CONTINUES IN SUPPORT OF MINNESOTA

[Anti-ICE protest Houston Texas Minnesota] As the rise of Anti-ICE protest increases around America, the rise in Anti-ICE protestors in Houston Texas also seems to be increasing as well. Tens of thousands of Houstonians engaged in Anti-ICE protest over the weekend and march in solidarity within not only the people of Minnesota, but for the people that have been killed by the hands of ICE Agents. This recent Anti-ICE protest took place in the Montrose neighborhood at Ervan Chew Park as protestors marched a mile-and-half track to Sam Houston Monument in Hermann Park and back.
Why many Houston residents have accused both the Houston Police Department and Houston Mayor John Whitmire of “collaborating” with ICE, both have denied the claims. Instead, they have reiterated that the City of Houston and the Houston Police Department have and will only engage in working with ICE in a “limited capacity”. What is meant by this is that the City of Houston and the Houston Police Department will only turn over those who have active federal arrest warrants over to ICE officials.
Anti-ICE protestors stood over the Interstate 59 bridge holding signs asking passing drivers to honk their horns in both solidarity and support for their calls. For many Houston residents within the neighborhood where yesterday's Anti-Ice protest occurred, they stated that there were so many cars honking their horns that it sounded like “an after-five traffic jam mixed with road rage on a Sunday” in their neighborhood. Beside the Anti-Ice protestors that came together yesterday, there were also those who felt the need to express themselves and show their support for Iran.
Their support for Iran comes at a time where many people outside of Iran are harboring mixed feeling about whether the Americans should engage in the regime change of Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei as Iran was recently gripped by violent CIA led protest, soaring economic inflations, and a water drought that left millions with water throughout Iran due to it not raining in months. As time passes it is predicted more Anti-Ice and Iranian protest will continue not only through America but even more so in Houston due to it being a cultural and ethnic melting pot.
