[AMERICA IRAN OIL TANKERS STRAIT OF HORMUZ] With Brent crude oil up to $96.28 a barrel due to the both the Americans and Iranians both executing and exchanging missile strikes on oil tankers located within the Strait of Hormuz, off the coast of Kharg Island, and Bandar-e Jask “Jask” the latest strikes by both countries are sending shockwaves throughout the energy, oil, and gas sectors. US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that they struck three Iranian vessels in what they are calling a retaliatory reaction to Iran's execution of a missile counter-offensive towards an American Naval Destroyer and Aircraft Carrier.

CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper stated, “If you shoot at two of our ships, we will impose an even higher economic cost — taking out three of yours.” Iranian officials in response quickly took the position that American warships were “harassing Iranian ships” due to them participating in America's counter naval blockade against Iran. Iran issued a stark warning to all vessels navigating in the region to not “not be deceived" by America's ability to police and/or take control of the Strait of Hormuz and threatened that vessels operating in the region “refrain from any suspicious movement aimed at transiting unauthorized waterways. Otherwise, you will be targeted.” Soon after Iran's open warning, Iran executed a strike on an American vessel attempting to enter the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC reported that American naval forces were forced to withdraw after they executed a barrage of ballistic missiles towards the American military vessels in the Strait of Hormuz “after sustaining damage and fearing another reprisal.” The IRGC also stated to the Press that “should the hostile and aggressive actions continue, the US regime must expect devastating responses from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic. We stand stronger than ever. Victory belongs to the resilient people of Islamic Iran, while defeat and regret are the inevitable fate of the aggressors.”

Not only does Iran control the Strait of Hormuz, but they will continue to control the Strait of Hormuz well into the near future. With the American military apparatus running detrimentally low on both offensive and defensive missile defense systems such as the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense), PAC-3, and ATACMS which have been proven to be too costly to maintain and to replenish a consistent supply of. We predict that the Trump Administration will seek out an off ramp to claim some sort of victory over Iran concerning the Strait of Hormuz – even if the declared victory is cleverly engineered.

Put another way, as America's war of choice towards Iran continues, the question of whether or not the world can continue to absorb the onslaught of the world's ever-increasing and combined energy, oil, and gas price shocks that will be eventually answered if America continues on its current trajectory.
