TRUMP SEEKS TO BAN CANADIAN PRODUCTS, ADDITIONAL TARIFFS ISSUED

[TRUMP CANADAIAN PRODUCTS TARIFFS BAN] As the trade and economic war between the Trump Administration against Canada, it was reported that the Trump Administration has now escalated beyond the weaponized use of tariffs to now banning several Canadian productions from exportation to the United States. Products that will be affected by the Trump Administration's new ban will include motorcycles, Canadian alcohol, and various dairy products. The new product bans deployed by the Trump administration are set to begin on September 29 and comes on the heels of Canadian tariffs on American goods which started this week.
The new ban from the Trump Administration stems from the 1930’s section 339 of the Tariff Act. This section of the Act allows Presidents to ban imports from countries that impose discrimination against U.S. commerce. Along with that, the Trump Administration is also extending its 50% tariffs to include Canadian goods such as furniture, paper, steel, and aluminum products. However, the Trump Administration simultaneously backtracks on other items that were either already subjected to tariffs or were about to be subjected to his Administration's latest tariffs. Goods that fall into this category were cement, hospital paper products, and road salt; products that American businesses are heavily dependent on and would essentially cause financial strain under the tariffs and ban.
President Trump also appears to be making moves to also apply tariffs and bans on other Canadian items in the near future with expected bans and tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks, and jets. In addition to that, President Trump is also seeking to extend these measures which geopolitical analysts are calling “destructive” to federal contracts between the two nations. It has been predicted that Canada will not fold under the pressure of the Trump Administration in this regard as political speculators predicted that Canada will follow suit and begin the process deploying bans and additional tariffs of them on American products, goods, and services.
