[XIII International Sports Forum] Yesterday wrapped up the XIII International Sports Forum which was held in Samara, Russia. The XIII International Sports Forum was a two-day forum that highlighted the sports sector in Russia and how businesses can benefit from the promotion of Russian sports. On the orders of Russian president Vladimir Putin, the XIII International Sports Forum in conjunction with the government of The Russian Federation, The Ministry of Sport of The Russian Federation and the Roscongree Foundation spearheaded the forum. Well over 5,000 people attended the XIII International Sports Forum and consisted of 46 Olympic medal recipients, over 60 ministers of sports from various parts of Russia, and 76 heads from the Russian Federation.

The theme for this year's XIII International Sports Forum was centered upon “Sport For The Future: Winning Together” and focused on not only returning Russian athletes and Russian sports back to the world stage, but the creation and development of Russian sports through improved infrastructure and advanced sports technology. The biggest take away from this year's forum was Digital Sports also known in the West as “E-Sports”. The “Digital Sports: The Future That Came Today” seemed to be a big hit amongst attendees. The Digital Sports industry is currently estimated to be a $4.8 billion dollar industry globally and because of its ever-growing popularity on an international scale, it is predicted that the Digital Sports industry will show a growth rate of roughly 5% to 23% in several years with revenues reaching $10 billion by 2033.
Russia is seeking to be a world leader when it comes to being the driver of Digital Sports. During the forum, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation who also serves as the Chairman of the forum’s Organizing Committee Dmitry Chernyshenko stated to Press:
"In 2024, our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin presented a previously non-existent sports format to the whole world. The new digital movement, which is now developing independently, has become international and has already united 120 countries. It is a combination of physical, traditional and modern Digital Sports. To be successful, you need to develop both in the virtual world and in the physical one.”
The end of the XIII International Sports Forum was rounded off with a Memorial Day Parade, and the theme of the parade was “Heroes of Sports At War” and attracted more than 7,000 people.
OUR POSITION AT VEDA WORLD NEWS
While the Collective West is soughing seeds of war across the world, Russia appears to be leading the way for not only E-Sports or Digital Sports, but Russia is also seeking to lead the way from the advancement of technology. Video games are more than simple “games”. With all the technological advancements made in the gaming sector, video games have evolved far beyond being a source of entertainment. Video games currently have the power to shape minds, influence, further the continuation of technology, serve as a source for product placement for marketing and advertising, and serve as a platform that transcends national borders. This is good news for Russia because it provides them with yet another avenue to further degrade American sanctions.
It should also be stated that the promotion of E-Sports will also allow those who face physical challenges and impairments to compete in sports like they never could have before. With this happening it will change the perception of what an “athlete” looks like. Like China, Russia appears to be in the business of business and strengthening diplomatic relations with its current allies while fostering new diplomatic relations with other countries.
