[Yemen Houthis British cargo ship] With a fragile ceasefire in place between the Americans and Iran, Yemen’s Ansarullah (Houthis) have executed a strike on a British cargo ship in the Bab al-Mandab Strait., which lies in the Red Sea 30 nautical miles off the coast of Yemen. This latest attack comes on the heels of Ansarullah killing 16 British troops and wounding 22 members of supporting organizations near the port-city of Hodeidah. A barrage of drones, snipers, mortars, and missile strikes were utilized by Ansarullah in this latest offensive. The question that is not being asked is what are British vessels, personnel, and support forces doing in the area considering the highly strained relationship between Ansarullah and western backed nations.

This latest attack recently occurred during the funeral procession of assassinated Iranian ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Could it be that not only is it more to the story that mainstream media is currently putting out, or is this offensive by Ansarullah due to British cargo ships failing or simply ignoring the sovereignty Ansarullah has over the waters that connect to its coastal shores? Despite killing 16 British nationals and wounding another 22, it was also reported that Ansarullah lost roughly 50 fighters as the British retaliated in their counter-offensive.

Ansarullah seized pro-British government positions in the region but failed to hold on to those positions as British forces reclaimed them later in the evening indicating that the fighting between the forces lasted a while. With all the geopolitical and military tension occurring in the region it is highly speculated within the international community that more fighting will happen in the very near future.
